Fake Problems or Songs With Lyrics That Confuse Me or I've Had My Ear To The Soil And I Can't Hear Shit

This is about a song that I have been obsessed with and it is bugging me because the lyrics confuse me. I hope I can figure it out, but I don't want figuring it out to make me stop listening to the song because that's part of why I like it. Let the story commence. The other day I had to do a writing assignment for home school and the my Daily Spark (text book like thing that tells me what to write about, “write about your most embarrassing moment” blah, blah, blah) book had boring ass assignments so I improvised. I decided to write about my favorite album as if I was writing the Guest List for Alternative Press. Guest List if you don't know, is a column in the music magazine Alternative Press, where they have musicians from bands write a short piece on their favorite album. Any way I wrote about my favorite album, which is Good Charlotte's first album in case you were wondering. I pretended I was the guitarist for Black Angels (I am not in a band, but I do play guitar, very badly, the only thing I can play is an off-beat intro to Brain Stew by Green Day). I wanted to see if mine was any good so I read previous months Guest List'. I particularly liked the one by Fake Problems vocalist, Chris Farren. I liked it because it was really honest, okay maybe the fact that he is really good looking helped a little. Anywho, (yes I know it's not a word, shut up this is my blog, if you don't like made-up words, fuck you get off my blog)I liked it a lot, and it has my new favorite quote in it, “No, I do not read reviews, No I am not singing for you”. It's like fuck you society this is my band and I'm gonna sing what ever the fuck I want! (sorry to any one named Society, you have a terrible name, I suggest you change it) I also liked it cause the album he chose has a great name, Lifted Or The Story Is In The Soil, Keep Your Ear To The Ground. It is an awesome name!! (fuck you if you don't agree) Why do I like it? Look at the title of this entry! I love having titles like that! It just rocks! Okay, I got sidetracked, this is about a song so on with the song!
I was scrolling through the artists on my I-pod and Fake Problems jumped out at me and bit my head off. Okay, not really but it caught my eye, shit now I only have one eye. Sorry, I had to. I thought to myself Fake Problems, do I know them? Oh yeah that one guy who is good looking is the singer or something. Mhmm, I wonder if they are any good. So I clicked on it, the song that I apparently obtained was Heartless from the Warped Tour 2010 Cd. (old yes I know, should have actually listened to the whole thing, I was bandist and only listened to my favorite bands (yes bandist, I was prejudiced against the other bands) yes bad Camille bad, “shame on you, you turned your back on good bands shame on you” (altered quote from The Princess Bride) I am a bad person, go ahead rub it in, feel better now? Okay good on with the story) Now where was I? Oh yes I'm about to listen to the song Heartless (I get sidetracked easily sorry *insert sad face here) I click on it and the song starts. I think Okay an acoustic song not the best but I can deal the song continues and my brain explodes and I have an eargasm! Wow! This song is fucking groovy, I love this, how have I not lisened to this yet!? It's fucking awesome!! I let it play and the eargasm continues.

What does this have to do with anything? Well The lyrics are confusing me! Is it a love song is? Is it a break up song? Is it both? What the hell is it?

Okay, so here's what is confusing me:


1)”You were the only one I didn't pretend to love” Did you love he or hate her?
2)”But I've come dangerously close to giving it all up” Giving up what? Moving on? Your music career? Life? Tell me!


I guess that's all that confused me and if there is something else I forgot it. =]
Oh and I just found out Chris has a Tumblr so hgxfdhgbhjdihjjk to that and he replied to my tweet so more jkhjjjjhnvbvnzvngxcmnnbnbxbb for that.
